The Conversion Specialists

The shower is the last place to cut corners.

A walk-in shower looks simple — glass, tile, a drain. What decides whether it is still perfect in ten years is hidden: the waterproofing membrane, the slope of the pan, the backing behind the tile. Failed showers almost never fail at the tile; they fail at the seams, and the water damage shows up in the ceiling downstairs.

Every EcoWave shower is built on a complete waterproofing system — membrane, sealed seams, flood-tested pan — before a single tile is set. We photograph each hidden stage and hand you the photos, so you can see exactly what is behind your walls.

  • Full waterproofing membrane system — flood-tested pan
  • Curbless and low-threshold entries available
  • Frameless and semi-frameless glass options
  • Custom tile: large-format, mosaic, natural stone
  • Benches, niches and grab bars built in
  • Photo documentation of every hidden stage

Every Bathroom, Every Layout.

Tub-to-Shower Conversion

The most popular Ottawa bathroom upgrade: out with the unused tub, in with a full-width walk-in shower in the same footprint.

Curbless & Barrier-Free

Zero-threshold entries with linear drains and continuous floor tile — safer, easier to clean, and ready for aging-in-place.

Glass Enclosures

Frameless and semi-frameless tempered glass measured after tile, so panels fit the finished opening exactly.

Custom Tile Work

Large-format porcelain, subway, hex and natural stone — with proper backer boards and movement joints.

Accessibility Upgrades

Grab bars, fold-down benches, handheld showers and comfort-height fixtures, placed to be used, not just installed.

Shower Rebuilds

Failed or leaking showers stripped to the studs and rebuilt with modern waterproofing — we fix other jobs too.

What does a tub-to-shower conversion cost in Ottawa?
Most Ottawa tub-to-walk-in-shower conversions land between $12,000-$25,000 depending on tile selection, glass and plumbing moves. Curbless builds with linear drains sit at the higher end. You get a fixed written quote before any demo starts.
How long will my bathroom be out of service?
A standard conversion takes 2-3 weeks from demo to glass install. The toilet and sink are back in service each evening where possible; the shower itself is typically usable at the two-week mark, with glass following a few days later.
Is curbless possible in my bathroom?
In most Ottawa homes, yes. Curbless entries need the floor structure to accept a recessed pan or a re-pitched floor, which we confirm during the free on-site visit. Where the structure does not allow it, a low 2-inch threshold gives most of the same benefit.
What waterproofing system do you use?
A full bonded-membrane system over cement or foam backer board, with sealed seams, corners and every screw penetration. The pan is flood-tested for 24 hours before tile. We photograph each stage and give you the photos.
Can you convert a small bathroom?
Small bathrooms are where conversions shine. Removing a 60-inch tub for a walk-in shower typically frees visible floor area, and a clear glass panel makes the room read larger. We have converted bathrooms as small as 5 by 7 feet.
Do I need a permit for a shower conversion in Ottawa?
A like-for-like conversion usually needs no permit. Moving drain or supply lines, or altering structure, can require one — we identify that at quote stage and handle the application when needed.
