A sunken driveway or heaved walkway usually does not need a tear-out. We lift your existing pavers, rebuild the failed base properly, and re-lay the same stones — most jobs are done in 1-3 days at a fraction of replacement cost.
Nine times out of ten, sunken interlock is a base problem, not a paver problem. The original installer went too shallow, skipped the geotextile, or compacted in one lift — and Ottawa frost did the rest. The pavers on top are usually fine and worth keeping.
A relevel costs a fraction of a full replacement because you keep your pavers. We lift the affected area, excavate to proper depth, compact new HPB in lifts, and re-lay your stones with fresh polymeric sand. Where pavers are cracked or discontinued, we blend in matching or complementary replacements.
Car ruts, dips and birdbaths lifted and re-based to the correct 8-12 inch depth — the area comes back level and stays level.
Sections pushed up by frost are lifted, the contaminated base is replaced, and the surface is reset to grade.
Creeping borders and spreading edges re-pinned with concrete haunch or aluminum spike restraint.
Old joint sand blown out, weeds and ant hills removed, joints refilled with hardened polymeric sand.
Low spots that pool water against the garage or foundation re-pitched to drain the right way.
Rocking or settled front steps re-based and reset so the gap at your door disappears for good.

This is the honest framework we use during free assessments. If your project falls in the replace column, we will tell you — and quote both options so you can decide with real numbers.
